Jaleco was established in October 1974. In 2000, they purchased Hong Kong's PCCW (Pacific Century Cyber Works). The following year, Jaleco changed their name to PCCW Japan. In 2004, it was changed back to Jaleco. Today, in addition to their video game business, they develop, market and deliver content for the Internet and market and sell home-use beer servers.
Jaleco stands for "JApan LEisure COrporation"
Founder and former owner Yoshiaki Kanazawa left in 2001 to form AIA.
